April 1, 2024: Gardner’s Paradise & Boston Vibes

Today’s adventure was to one of my favorite places on earth, which also happens to be in Boston, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. I had the opportunity to take my friends there for the first time, which I’ve been lucky to do with many friends over the years! There is nothing more breathtaking than walking into the main museum and the courtyard (above) coming into full view. In Isabella Stewart Gardner’s life she amassed more than 7500 artifacts, many collected all around the world as she was an avid traveler. In her legacy, she left Boston, and anyone who travels here, with the masterpiece of the house itself and her beautiful collection.

On every floor and almost every turn is another incredible view of the courtyard filled with statues, flowers, and exotic plants that thrive all year round, making it a great place to go in any season. In the Spring, however, we get to see the return of the hanging nasturtiums (above) which cascade down the walls and windows of the house. We had the idea to check our local library a few days beforehand and found library passes allowing us to visit for only $5 per person. I recommend trying this route if you live in the area. Before leaving Boston for the day we had lunch at a cute spot I discovered recently, Mamacita, which has incredible Mexican food in an adorably decorated garden-level location on Huntington Avenue. Since it caters to a large college community the food was not only delicious but affordable. If you visit Boston do not miss the ISGM!
